1.) Can I add scents or cleaning solutions when using my steam cleaner?
No, we do not recommend using cleaning chemicals, natural oils, or scents with your steam cleaner. Just use water for the best and safest results.
2.) What´s the best product to use for descaling my steam cleaner?
Coffee machine descalers are recommended choice, but you can also use vinegar. For full details, please check your user manual.
3.) Which surfaces in my home can I safely clean with my steam cleaner?
You can hygienically clean any sealed floors with your Vileda Steam Cleaner. Carpets can also be refreshed using the carpet glider.
4.) Can I wash the cleaning pads in the washing machine?
Yes! Vileda Steam cleaning pads are machine-washable up to 60°C. Just don´t use fabric softener, as it can reduce their performance.
5.) What´s the safest way to clean delicate floors with my steam cleaner?
Use the ¨sensitive setting¨ together with the ¨sensitive pad¨ for gentle cleaning on your most delicate floors.
6.) How do I know when it’s time to descale my steam cleaner?
On the control panel of your Steam Plus Pro, a red blinking arrow will let you know it’s time to descale.
7.) Is the steam safe for children and pets around the house?
Yes, steam cleaning is chemical-free and safe for families. However, keep children and pets away while cleaning, as the steam is very hot and could cause burns on direct contact.
8.) How often should I descale my steam cleaner?
It depends on how hard your water is and how often you use the cleaner. As a general rule, descale every 6 months in regular usage, or when the indicator on your model shows it’s time.
9.) How long does the steam cleaner take to heat up?
Vileda steam cleaners heat up in 15 seconds, so you can start cleaning almost right away. When you unplug the product and change room, plug it again, you don´t need to wait for the heat up time. You can keep using your steam cleaner immediately.
10.) What should I do if my steam cleaner stops producing steam?
First, check if the water tank has enough water and if the device is fully heated. If the issue continues, your cleaner may need descaling. Following the descaling instructions in your user manual.
11.) How often should I replace the cleaning pads?
Cleaning pads are machine washable and reusable. It is recommended to replace the cleaning pads at the end of each cleaning cycle.
12.) Is it safe to use the steam cleaner on laminate or wooden floors?
Yes, but only on sealed laminate or sealed wooden floors. Always use the “sensitive” setting with the “sensitive pad” to protect delicate surfaces.
13.) What is the best choice of water to be used?
You may use clean tap water or distilled/demineralized water. If in your area the water is hard a frequent descaling is necessary. For a long life of your product we recommend demineralized or distilled water, descaling will be not necessary then.
